• Human Rights Day: Theme, Significance, and activities!


    When is human rights day? Honoring Human Rights Day is a day that is commemorated every year on 10th December. This is International Day. It marks the anniversary of the adoption and approval of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in the year 1948. This entitled meaning of the document is one of the most popular and widely translated documents across the world, which is available in more than 500 languages. The main purpose of celebrating these un days annually is to educate people about the significance of National honoring Human Rights Awareness Day. It aims at inspiring citizens to start treating every person with the same respect, dignity, and the right to live, regardless of their caste, color, or creed.

    History: 

    National Human Being  Day marks International Day, the anniversary of when the United Nations General Assembly adopted and proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. The popularity of these special un days can be judged from the fact that when the United Nations Postal Administration issued the commemorative stamp in 1952, it received more than 200,000 advance orders. 

    The purpose of the Declaration of National Human Rights is to establish day by day a safe and peaceful society where every person can live in liberty. To answer the main question “ What is human?” It is to ensure a common standard of living for every citizen around the world, regardless of their race, social status, and caste. Everyone has the right to lead their life with dignity and respect, and Rights Day is when we can make that happen. 

    Nowadays, proclaimed meanings of different themes are selected for the entitled meaning of these un days so it can receive the attention it deserves. For example, in 2014, the theme for Human day to day  Rights was “Every Day is Human Being Rights Day”. Whereas, in the year 2016, the theme was “Stand Up for Someone’s Rights Today”.  We can make this earth a better place for every person if we just remember the basic human rights, and treat everyone with the same level of respect and decency. 

    Importance: 

    National Human Being Rights Day is observed on the 10th of December annually as International Day in every country around the world. Tremendous efforts are made to celebrate the day with activities in the promotion of global Human Rights. A variety of events take place on Human Being Rights Day such as performances, concerts, webinars, seminars, public educational campaigns, and many more activities aiming to promote this notion. 

    The term “human rights” refers to the basic rights or freedoms every individual must have, which include the right to live safely, the right to education, health, freedom of speech and thoughts, and lastly, equal rights for all. . To answer the main question “ What is human?” Human Being Rights Day is commemorated annually aiming at promoting equity, justice, peace, love, and protection of human rights. Every person is entitled to all these rights irrespective of their color, caste, creed, race, religion, sexual orientation, language, origin, or financial status.

    This day-by-day fast celebration is also seen as the un days we all come together to protest against racial discrimination. We all must do our part in support of awareness of  Human rights so we can live in a peaceful world. We need to make this day an “international day priority”. 

    Why is Human Being Rights Day so important?

    It is important to keep in mind that what are human rights? We are all born equal and should be treated with the same level of respect. Every person that has set foot on this earth has the right to lead his life with liberty and justice. They all deserve a set of rights that ensures they are not being oppressed or owned by someone.

    Although we still have a long way to go when it comes to offering every individual basic human right, it is important to take a moment to appreciate the progress we have made as a society. This earth was filled with racial discrimination a hundred years ago, but now, it has become a better and fairer place just a little more. Let’s take a moment to acknowledge our progress and continue to make this world a better and safe place for everyone to peacefully live in.

    When the Declaration of Human Rights document was first adopted by the United Nations Postal Administration, it was agreed upon by more than 48 member states altogether. The main objective of this document is what are human rights?  These 48 states share a common belief that the common standard of living life can be and should be made better.

    On Human Being Rights Day by day, going fast as many NGOs and foundations arrange events for fundraisers, such as concerts, bake sales, cultural events, etc. Many political conferences, meetings, debates, seminars, and exhibitions are also held on this day. So, take some time out to visit these events to help them out and be a part of a better community.
