Bojana Novakovic studied performing arts at the MacDonald College in Sydney, thereafter graduating from the National Institute of Dramatic Art in 2002. Besides Ride On she was the brains behind Melbourne’s Black Lung Theatre, operating as a writer and director. Bojana Novakovic later worked on Fox’s Rake, acting as a gorgeous young prostitute- it was cancelled in 2014.. She then played in The Hallow, which was a horror movie directed by Colin Hardy.

Some of Bojana Novakovic’s most notable work was with Ride On’s The Story of Mary MacLane by Herself. The performance was based on the works of Mary MacLane, who claims to be a genius in 20th century America. With the backing of the Australia Council for Arts, Bojana worked together with Tanya Goldberg as director, and Tim Rogers as musician. The play was incredibly well supported- the assistance of Art NSW, the Griffin Theatre Company, Malthouse Theatre and Merrigong Theatre Company, their dream was realized.
They later created an anthology called Human Days: A Mary MacLane Reader which first sold in 2011. Novakovic penned the foreword herself. They followed this with A Quite Unusual Intensity of Life: A Mary MacLane Companion which was published by Petrarca Press. It was first published in 2015.
