    Zendaya and John David Washington Sold the film Malcolm & Marie to Netflix for $30 million. The movie was shot secretly during the quarantine period. Amazon Prime and HBO were among the potential buyers of the movie. However, Netflix has taken advantage of being the purchaser of the movie. The whopping price of $30 million is the highest amount anyone has paid out of the film festival. Some other buyers also pursued to buy the film, including Searchlight, A24, Apple, and Focus Features, MGM.

    Moreover, the movie was written by Sam Levinson, who is also among the creators of Zendaya’s HBO series Euphoria. The movie’s filming also took place during the quarantine period, the shootings were halted due to the pandemic, but Malcolm and Marie’s shot secretly.

    In 2020, Zendaya and John David Washington announced that they are going to become a part of the movie. Sam Levinson directed the movie, and he also wrote the screenplay only in six days. The film was shot during the pandemic’s peak period. The entire shooting took place at Caterpillar House in Monterey County, California. However, they carefully look after all the precautionary measures. The entire caste was quarantined before and after the shooting took place. They followed all the safety protocols of COVID-19.

From the production phase to the movie’s final release, the entire process has been accelerated amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, Netflix is now the official distributor, and fans have to wait for the movie’s release.
