Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt Are Officially Back On The Market
Once considered the most beautiful couple in the world, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are officially single. The pair has filed papers so they can be called legally single, though the process of their divorce continues to drag on more than two years after their estrangement.

According to court records obtained by multiple media outlets, the Mr. & Mrs. Smith costars filed a judgment on April 12, which officially cited them exes. The exes moved for a bifurcated judgment. Simply put, the action means that they can keep negotiating their divorce settlement, regarding custody and monetary assets, but their marriage is officially over.
The Blast stated that the former love birds wanted to “get on with their lives.” The website noted that this move was made for the sole purpose of emotionally breaking away from each other, and not because of some budding romance.
Jolie shocked the world when she filed for divorce in September 2016. The actress has been locked in a custody battle with her ex-husband ever since. The exes are parents to Maddox, 17, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 12, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 10.
Now, even though they’re single in the eyes of the law, the two must continue to negotiate over their divorce settlement, which will likely take several months of splitting up millions of dollars in assets and creating a permanent custody order for their six children.
Us Weekly confirmed last December that the Maleficent star and the Troy actor avoided going to trial over custody by reaching an agreement. “The two will have joint physical and legal custody of the children,” a source told Us at the time. “Over the next six to eight weeks, the monitored visits will come to an end. The children will immediately begin to have overnight visits with their father.”
Another source from Pitts camp claimed that he “got what he wanted” in the battle. However, the court case caused strain between Meet Joe Black and sons Maddox and Pax. According to a different insider, the actor “has accepted that he’ll likely never be able to mend their relationship.”
On the other hand, Angelina, for her part, seems well adjusted to the new normal. “Her kids are her life,” a close friend told Us Weekly earlier this month. “Every day is a new adventure. … [She] likes the life lessons and new creative ideas that come from trying all different kinds of things. The sky’s the limit for her.”
Pitt and Jolie first met on the set of their 2005 action film Mr. & Mrs. Smith, while Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston. They later began dating publicly a few months after Mr. & Mrs. Smith premiere. In January 2006, the couple told PEOPLE they were expecting their first child together.
In 2014 they got married in an intimate ceremony at their chateau in the South of France. In September 2016, two years after their romantic wedding, Angelina filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.
