• Prince Joachim Celebrates Wedding Anniversary After Brain Surgery


    Prince Joachim and Princess Marie shared a special moment after recovering from Brain surgery. The Royal couple is celebrating their copper wedding anniversary. The couples in Denmark celebrates 12 and a half year of marriage, which is known as a copper wedding – because it’s halfway to 25. The Royal couple tied the knot on May 24, 2008. It’s also a special day, as the wedding of Joachim’s parents King Frederick IX and Ingrid of Sweden, also marks on the same day. Prince Joachim and his wife, Princesses Marie, are blessed with two children. Earlier this year, Prince Joachim had to go through brain surgery as there was a blood clot in his brain. The 51-years-old royal was moved out of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) a few days after the successful surgery. He moved to his home and continued the recovery.

    Prince Joachim’s Brain Surgery

    Earlier this summer in July, Prince Joachim was admitted to Toulouse University Hospital. He was treated immediately after getting admitted because there was a blood clot in his brain. After being recovered, he was moved from the ICU. The Royal House announced that he would continue his recovery at home. At that time, French-born Princess Marie took the time to thank the public and support them at this crucial time following Prince Joachim‘s hospitalization. Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, the mother of Joachim, also took the time to thank the public for all the Royal family’s sympathies. Prince Joachim is the younger son of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark. He is the younger brother of Crown Prince Frederick.
