Pentatonix Earnings, Salery and Career
Pentatonix is an American Cappella group formed in Arlington Texas. The group currently consists of Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kirstin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola, and Matt Sallee who replaced Avi Kaplan in 2018.
Their popularity started during their performance on the third season of The Sing-Off and eventually won the competition in 2011. Following their success in the competition, they moved to LA to pursue a full-time career in music. They were able to sign with Madison Gate Records in 2012 and released their first-ever EP, PTX, Volume 1 in June of the same year which features covers and original songs. A large contributor to their success was also their growing YouTube channel where they featured covers of popular songs such as “Somebody That I Used to Know”, “Gangnam Style” and “We Are Young”. In the same year, they went on to headline their first tour in fall which was a massive success with shows selling out across 30 cities. During this year, they also released a compilation of Christmas songs for their EP PTXmas.
They later released their 2nd EP PTX, Vol. II on November 5, 2013. They also released a medley of Daft Punk songs on YouTube which earned them a Grammy Award for the Best Arrangement, Instrumental, or a Cappella. They later signed with RCA Records in 2014 and released their first full-length studio album PTX, Vols. 1 & 2 on July 30 of the same year.

Their 3rd EP PTX Vol. III was released in the same year on September 23 which debuted at number 5 on the Billboard 200. They also released another full-length Christmas album titled That’s Christmas to Me on October 21, 2014, which charted at number 2 on Billboard 200 upon its release. The album was later certified gold by the RIAA.
They later released a self-titled album that consists of only original songs in 2018. The album was met with critical acclaim and peaked at number 1 on the US Billboard 200. The album was again certified gold by the RIAA.
A year after, they released another Christmas album titled A Pentatonix Christmas on October 21. The album again charted impressively peaking at number one on the Billboard 200. They later released another EP titled PTX, Vol. IV – Classics on April 7, 2018, which was showcased their diversity in genre and sound.
Avi Kaplan then left the band due to personal reasons in September 2018 and was replaced by Matt Sallee.
