Nicholas Edward Foles is an American football quarterback who plays for Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). Born on January 20, 1989, Foles started playing college football at Arizona and was later drafted by the Eagles in the third round of 2012 Draft.

In his early career, Foles had played for St. Louis Rams and Kansas City Chiefs as well.

Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Nick Foles graduated from Westlake High School.

He set himself as a noticeable athlete on his school football team from his early years as he broke most school records. Foles did equally well on basketball and was even honored with two MVP honors.

Nick Foles' serious football career started when he entered college. Though he initially committed to Arizona State, he later attended Michigan State and ultimately transferred to the University of Arizona. At Michigan State, he appeared in a game against Alabama-Birmingham going 5-of-8 for 57 yards.

After a year at Michigan, he eventually transferred to University of Arizona as a redshirt freshman in 2008. By 2010, Foles had earned and unquestioned position on the Wildcats team where he led the team to a 7-1 start that included a victory against 9th position Iowa.

With brilliant performances, he ended off his junior year with 3191 yards, 20 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Foles missed two games that season due to injury.

2011 season was one of the best seasons for Nick Foles. He completed 387-of-560 passes for 4,334 yards and 28 touchdowns, ranking first in the Pac-12 Conference and fifth among all NCAA Division I FBS players with average of 352.58 yards (of total offense) per game.

Additionally, he was ranked second in the Pac-12 and 20th among all FBS players in total passing yardage. Foles graduated with a degree in communication from University of Arizona to start off his professional footballing career.

With overall 88th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, Nick Foles was selected by Philadelphia Eagles in the third round in 2012. On 12th of May, he signed a four-year contract with the team.

He made his debut in the NFL in a game with the Eagles in Week 10 of the 2012 season after Michael Vick left with an injury.

On successive weeks, Foles gained confidence of the coach and the team, and was consistently included in the squad.

In Week 9 of the 2013 season, Nick Foles became the second quarterback to post a perfect rating of 158.3 while passing for more than 400 yards, and also the first quarterback in NFL history to post a perfect passer rating and throw seven touchdowns in a single game.

He wrapped his 2013 regular season with 27 touchdown passes and only 2 interceptions. Owing to his exceptional performance, he was awarded "NFL Greatness on the Road" award for his seven touchdown on his postseason debut against the Oakland Raiders.

In 2014, Nick Foles was assigned as Pro Bowl athlete as an alternate and was drafted by Team Sanders. He went 7 for 10 for 89 yards and a go ahead touchdown though his team lost the game.

He won the Pro Bowl Offensive MVP award that year.

His 2014 season was not as excellent as his preceding season, however, he managed to have over 4,000 yards passing and he led the team to a 6-2 record as starter, first place in the NFC East and second place in the NFC.

On 2015, Eagles traded Nick Foles to the St. Louis Rams in exchange for Sam Bradford. He signed a two-year contract worth $24.5 million in August 7.

As Foles became upset about the drafted quarterback Jared Goff, he requested a grant release, awarded on July 2016.

He then signed a one year deal with Kansas City Chiefs on August worth $1.75 million with a second option for 2017 that could go up to $16 million depending on his performance.

However, on March 2017, the Chiefs declined a second-year option on his contract making him a free agent.

Very soon, Nick Foles signed a two-year contract to return to his first team Philadelphia Eagles. During Week 14 against his former team, the Rams, he came on from the bench to complete 6 out of 10 passes for the 42 yards as Eagles won 43-35, reclaiming their first division title since 2012.

After December 11, he has been a regular starter for the team. In Week 15, he threw for 237 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 34-29 victory against the Giants.

Nick Foles' second stint with Philadelphia Eagles has been a brilliant one so far.

In one of the most promising victories for Eagles, Foles completed 23 of 30 passes for 246 yards in a game against Atlanta Falcons. It was the Eagles' first playoff victory in nine seasons.
