Most Expensive Car In The World Bugatti La Voiture Noire

You know you’ve made it when you buy the world’s most expensive car, and the eye-watering amount barely creates a dent in your bank account. It is a rumor that the football legend has bought the one-off Bugatti La Voiture Noire. The Most Expensive Car ever built!

Bugatti unveiled an exceptionally beautiful hypercar in front of the gawking eyes of the world last March, at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The French luxury company created an exclusive prototype supercar, and some claims suggest that it is a tribute to the 110th anniversary of the founding of the Buggati. The Bugatti beauty called the La Voiture Noire also pays homage to its predecessor, the iconic Type 57 SC Atlantic four of which were produced between 1936 and 1938. The Atlantic is another one-off creation that the company has already sold to the staggering amount of $18.6 million (€16.5 million), including taxes.

La Voiture Noire is (obviously) not like any other car in the world. Well, the price tag certainly proves that, but one of the things that set it apart from all the others is that it is powered by an 8.0-liter turbocharged W16 engine and can reach up to a mind-blowing 260mph.

The car exudes power, beauty, and technology that one can only dream of. Its carbon fiber body is handcrafted and it slightly resembles what we see on the Chiron-based Divo. Underneath the cars’ stunning exterior is also a familiar Chiron section with the quad-turbo W16 engine sending upwards of 1,500 horsepower (1,119 kilowatts) to all four of the wheels.

All that is under the skin of the car. The drool-worthy vehicle unveiled by Bugatti in Geneva was a mere concept car that had no powertrain. Similarly, it was not fitted with a pristine (or any for that matter) interior either, and Bugatti revealed that it was a work in progress that had only been in development for six months. The final version isn’t expected to be completed before two and a half years.

The identity of La Voiture Noire buyer hasn’t been officially revealed to the public, but a Spanish website Marca.com claims that world-renowned footballer Cristiano Ronaldo is the car’s lucky new owner.

Bugatti has confirmed the one-off model has a new owner, but have refused to identify them officially. Previous reports suggested it was purchased by Ferdinand Piech, former chairman of the Volkswagen Group.

The mysterious owner of the world’s richest car has to wait quite a bit to get behind its sleek wheel, two years to be exact. Bugatti’s masterpiece will be handed over to the owner in 2021 as the company still needs to finalize some minor details on the prototype, according to multiple reports.

Bugatti has been synonymous with luxury and class for over a hundred years. This is when you realize the name of the brand also packs a punch because it presented an unfinished prototype to the world, and the masses were left speechless. One buyer so much so, that he (or she) bought it two years before its completion. Ah, the life of the rich and famous.
