The Most Expensive Car in 2018 Is Not A Bugatti or Lamborghini
When people think of high-end and pricey vehicles the first names that pop into their minds are Ferrari, Lamborghini and even Bugatti. However, in 2018 there is a new player. The most expensive car in 2018 is not a Bugatti or Lamborghini, it’s a Koenigsegg, the Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita to be exact.
“Prior to the Trevita, car manufacturers only had access to traditional black carbon fibres,” according to Koenigsegg.
“Koenigsegg developed a unique coated fiber solution for the Trevita program that transformed the fibers from black to a sparkling, silvery white. When sunlight hits the Trevita, it sparkles as if millions of tiny white diamonds are infused inside the visible carbon fiber bodywork.”
Yes you read correctly. There is diamond dust included in the resin mixture for the carbon fibre. So how much does a car that has diamond dust on almost ever inch of it cost? Well $4.8 million of course.
That is more than the previous contender for the most expensive car in the world which was held by the $4.5 million Lamborghini Veneno. You have to just sit and wonder how one decides that they would actually rather spend money that could buy them their own estate and plenty of amenities on a vehicle. Guess when you’re a gear head it just comes naturally.
As for the engine, for the $4.8. you will also receive a 4.8-liter, dual-supercharged V8 with 1,004 horsepower and 797 pound-feet of torque, not bad for the price right?
