Last year in 2020, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Christmas plans were also canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions. The royal couple had to celebrate the festive season at their home. They had plans to spend Christmas with Kate’s family at Bucklebury, Berkshire. However, both London and Berkshire are under Tier 4 lockdown. According to the rules, it doesn’t allow to spend overnights and household mixing as well. It was the first Christmas that the Royal couple didn’t spend it with their family. Now, at Kate Middleton’s 39th birthday, it wasn’t possible to have a home party for friends and family. Therefore, Prince William and the kids arranged a tea party at home for the Duchess of Cambridge. In December 2020, Prince William also expressed the frustrations of staying at home and said it is quite difficult to make plans accordingly.

Kate usually celebrates her birthday by hosting some of her friends and family, including her parents, Carole and Michael. Kate’s last year’s birthday celebrations, the Royal couple invited William’s lifelong friend Tom Van Straubenzee and his wife, Lucy Lanigan. Currently, the United Kingdom is experiencing a third major lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It means that all the schools will remain closed even after the holidays. Therefore, Prince George and Princess Charlotte are relishing a tea party with their parents at home.
