How UFC’s Dana White Spends His Money

If you’re a big fan of UFC and MMA fighting, you have a lot of thanks to give to President Dana White. Outspoken and firm, White is one of the most recognizable figures in modern sports, and his rumored spending practices makes him a likable one, too.

Dana White, current President of the UFC, is worth an estimated $300,000,000.

Gambling

White has an infamous love for gambling and frequents the casinos in Vegas with the intent to wage a lot.

He’s banned from gambling at the Palms Casino altogether after winning $2,000,000 there, but that isn’t even the most White has claimed to win in a night. White’s gone on record saying he’s won as much as $5,000,000 and lost as much as $1,000,000.

When you think about it, White’s love gambling makes a whole lot of sense when considering what led him to Vegas in the first place. White said during his time as a personal training in Boston he was shaken down by members of the Irish mob and their threatening demands for money led him to pack up and head to Vegas. A big-time gamble that worked out in his favor, for sure.

Being a Family Man

After building a pool complete with waterfalls in the backyard of his Las Vegas home, his subdivision insisted he take it down due to violations. White refused and instead pays off $2,500 fines every month because “my kids love it.”

And in 2013, White gave his kids an unforgettable Christmas when he imported snow to Las Vegas to cover his driveway and create a white Christmas he was used to growing up in New England. One can only imagine the kind of price tag on that.

Sharing the Wealth

Despite many reports that some UFC fighters are unhappy with their pay, in 2010 Billy Baker, a reporter for the Boston Globe, said that during his time spent trailing White, the president would keep a stack of hundred dollar bills on him and hand it to people who did minor polite tasks such as holding doors and pushing elevator buttons.

Moreover, he donated $100,000 to his high school when he noticed it was in need of serious updating.

In 2010, when he was alerted to a Tiger Muay Thai fighter’s daughter needing a liver transplant but not having the funds, he instantly pledged to cover whatever cost of the surgery. White’s generosity saved a life, an immeasurable gift.

To top it off, he’s also rumored to spend $100,000 per month in gratuities alone. It’s always nice to hear about the financially-fortunate being extra-generous to those assisting them.
