Holly Madison began her career as a young model in Alaska of all places. She went to college and then worked it Hooters and did modeling to help her pay for school.
Hugh Hefner noticed Madison as a model, and started inviting her to the Playboy mansion to get in the fun. He eventually asked her to move in with him. Contrary to popular belief, she never actually married Hefner, although she dated him for nearly a decade.
Madison actually didn’t pose for Playboy magazine until much later in her career. She lived in the Playboy mansion for several years, and got famous for the TV series The Girls Next Door, before ever appearing in the magazine.
She did about half a decade on E! for the The Girls Next Door, before she quit and separated from Hefner.
After that, Holly Madison went on to Dancing With The Stars, and her own show, Holly’s World. She also did multiple burlesque shows.
According to the International Business Times, each Dancing with the Stars contestant gets around $125,000 to be on the show, plus a few thousand per episode. In total, Holly Madison likely earned between $200,000 to $300,000 for her DWTS appearance.
Another of her projects was a memoir called Down the Rabbit Hole. She also did a second memoir. Madison appears to have earned a couple hundred thousand from her memoirs and her burlesque shows.
Madison’s appearance in Playboy magazine also earned her some money. Playmates generally earn about $25,000 to appear in the magazine, however well-known playmates and playmates of the year earn up to $100,000.
Holly Madison earned a significant amount of money from her appearances on Dancing With The Stars and her other ventures. However most of her money came from her association with Hugh Hefner. The Girls Next Door was a significant moneymaking venture for her as well as her work with Playboy, and her spreads in the magazine. In total, we estimate Holly Madison net worth 2018 at $5 million.
Interestingly, Hugh Hefner has noted that he planned to leave $3 million to Madison in his will.
Madison said this to People: “I found on my side of the bed a folder that he left out, and in his will he left me $3 million…It was very clear that he left that out for me to see because he was hoping I would change my mind and get me to stay, but it just kind of disgusted me more than anything because all he can do was say, ‘Oh, here, I’m going to throw you some money to get you to stay.’ It just grossed me out.””
Will the money actually go to Holly Madison? We don’t know; however, if it does, her net worth will be $8 million.
