Garrett Hedlund was born on September 3, 1984 in Roseau, Minnesota. He is an American actor, model and singer, known for his work in several films such as Eragon, Tron: Legacy, and more recently Pan. He started his career as a teen model for L.L. Bean and Teen Magazine and later focused on a career in acting. His silver screen debut was in the movie Troy where he played Patroclus.
He was also able to work with other prestigious actors such as Mark Wahlberg in Four Brothers. He was also in the film Eragon where he played Murtagh. In December 2010, he starred alongside Jeff Bridges in Tron: Legacy, the sequal to the 1982 film Tron.
Later in the year, he co-starred with Gwyneth Paltrow and Leighton Meester in Friday Night Lights where he also recorded several songs for the movie. Critics were impressed with his vocal prowess in the movie comparing him to singer Charlie Robison.
He was then cast in On the Road with several other popular actors and actresses such as Viggo Mortensen, Amy Adams, and Kristen Steward. He went on to star in Unbroken which was directed by Angelina Jolie in 2014.
