Nicole Elizabeth “Snooki” LaValle is an American celebrity, dancer, and author. She is known for her appearance in the reality TV series Jersey Shore. She was born on November 23, 1987, in Santiago, Chile. She was then adopted six months later.
Her first TV appearance was on the TV show Is She Really Going Out with Him? on MTV. Snooki made an appearance on one of the episodes and later went on to star in the reality TV show Jersey Shore. The show aired on December 3, 2009, and featured the daily lives of people spending the summer at the Jersey Shore in New Jersey. The show was received particularly well despite controversies regarding racial issues and stereotypical characterizations of certain social archetypes. It was also heavily criticized for the unrealistic and often negative press it brought upon the state.
Snooki’s performance on the show was particularly loved by fans as she had a particular charm about her. Thanks to her popularity on the show, she and fellow castmate Jennifer “Jwoww” Farley co-starred on the spin-off show Snooki & Jwoww in 2012 and eventually concluding in February 2015. Following the ending of Jersey Shore she married co-star Jionni Lavalle on November 29, 2014. Prior to their marriage, they also had two kids named Lorenzo Dominic, and Giovanna Marie.
