Michele Tafoya’s start was with KFAN-AM in Minneapolis as a host and a reporter. Her assignments were mostly for University of Minnesota women’s basketball broadcasts and for Minnesota Vikings. Using the name Mickey Conley, she worked in WAQS-AM in Charlotte. It was there where she became the first female to work as a color analyst for UNC-Charlotte basketball games for men.
