James Henry Harrison Jr. is a 39 year old line-backer who plays for the New England Patriots in the NFL. He was born in Akron, Ohio.

Despite initial concern from his mother, he was eventually allowed to play football in high school. He excelled both at football and track & field.

In 2002, James Harrison was signed as a rookie by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He struggled as a player, and received very little game time.

In 2003, Baltimore picked James Harrison up, and he went to play in The Rein of Fire in the European NFL. He was dropped so many times he thought about leaving football forever.

In 2004 he was signed once again by the Steelers, and after much improvement he stayed there until the 2012 season. He opened his NFL account in 2004, with a touch down against the Buffalo Bills.

In 2005, James Harrison started just three games. Although lacking game time, he did earn a Super Bowl ring because the Steelers won the Bowl that season.

In 2007, the Steelers had added two line-backers to their squad, but chose Harrison as a starter instead. It was a wise choice in the end because he had a fantastic season: he was named in All-Pro Second Team, and started his first ever Super Bowl.
