• Fiji resort offers guests James Bond-style ‘underwater plane’ ride for $1,700

Fiji island vacations can get boring with all the sun, sand, money-tossing and vacationing and such. Yawwwwn. Anyone want to take an underwater plane ride?

Fiji resort offers guests James Bond-style ‘underwater plane’ ride for $1,700

A private island resort in the Fiji islands is providing guests with the chance to take the DeepFlight Super Falcon down for a spin. The five-star Laucala Island will charge $1,700 for a two-hour trip. Guests will glide through the crystal clear waters of the South Pacific Ocean — kind of like James Bond — but with the spy gadgets, necessary violence and booty at the end of the night.

That’s not a joke — alright the random fornication was a joke — but the DeepFlight Super Falcon is similar to the submarinemobile used in the 1981 Bond flick For Your Eyes Only.

The 21-foot-long sub with 9-foot wingspan, the ride can dive up to 1,500 feet and reach speeds of six knots (almost seven miles per hour). The Falcon can also do barrel rolls underwater, dive straight down, make sharp turns and a bunch of other things to assist with up-chucking your vacation brunch.

Here’s video of the DeepFlight in action or just go rent the Bond movie.
